Computer Art Contest

Award

The Computer Art Contest was launched in the January issue 1963.

As a friend of the chief editor and co-publisher Edmund C. Berkeley of the magazine Computers and Automation, Hertlein, Grace C. played a decisive part in the concept for the first competition of computer graphics, the winner of which was presented on the cover of each year’s August edition.
The response to the annual contest was considerable, and it also led to international networking among computer artists. [Source: Ex Machina – Frühe Computergrafik bis 1979. ...]
