name: MBB Computer Graphics
Description

The group of four engineers/programmers/mathematicians and one artist existed in the years from 1971 to 1972 at the aerospace company MBB (i.e. Messerschmitt- Bölkow-Blohm) in Ottobrunn near Munich (Germany).

During this time, they generated a substantial body of graphic works that were exhibited twice: first in 1972 internally, in the company’s social rooms (“Casino”), and again in 1973 at the Tendencies 5 event in Zagreb (Yugoslavia/Croatia).

The group was also responsible for a complex show and event included in the cultural program of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. The fact that MBB became the location of cultural work for that short amount of time may well be caused by the availability of financial support for an activity that otherwise the company would not be interested in. The sociologist, Fischer, Winfried in his role as MBB’s press spokesman, was responsible for this.
