Wolfgang Zach’s work focusses on kinetic objects, drawings and computer drawings. In his early times, kinetic objects occupied most of his interest, because he wanted to artistically express movement of spatial line structures. For this goal he discovered the computer as a tool that could help him to evolve ideas and make them visible.
Nowadays his drawings reach amazing sizes (157 cm width and open cm length) which he produces with his very exciting self-made drawing machine, which he has built in 1987. The work of the plotter has the prime importance in Zach’s work process – more importance than the work on the computer. Wolfgang Zach is famous for his huge pencil-lead-drawings in high precision and quality. Besides his plotter and own programming he is using the internet (e.g. google earth) producing them.
