Description

Before 1974, although Ingerl used a programme, he did not employ a computer. He developed the programmed structures in his mind and then on paper, and subsequently had them implemented by the IT specialist Wolfgang Laun. His computer graphics experiment with simple, basic geometric shapes and the relation between figure and background – it is very difficult to distinguish between the two.

Ingerl’s hyper-realistic sculptures represent a contrast to these stringent, abstract works; as a rule, they consist of tightly-laced female bodies, from which he produced true-to-life pIaster impressions using a moulage technique.
