Made in 1976 during the PhD program at the Leicester Polytechnic at the school of Mathematics, Computing and Statistics under the direction of Ernest Edmonds.
Given sixteen elements and a matrix of 400 cells, the systems 16 (root 400) images. the system was seen as a way of exploring the set of drawings : with weighing modification regulating the direction and the rate of progress through the space of drawings. Sixteen embodied a global organising principle that controlled the distribution of elements in the visual field.
