The International Science Technology Exposition of 1985 (国際科学技術博覧会 Kokusai Kagaku Gijutsu Hakurankai) was a world’s fair that took place in Tsukuba, Ibaraki in Japan. The fair took place in a planned science park developed during the 1960s called the “Tsukuba Science City”. The internationally renowned fair had 20.3 million visitors and 111 countries participants. The theme of the fair was “Dwellings and Surrounds – Science and Technology for Man at Home”, and held in its pavilions works from artists, scientists and corporations mainly from the technology industry.
