Description

ARTOTHEQUE is more than a museum. It’s an art library where you can rent works of art to enjoy them at home, or at your workplace. The targets of the association are numerous:
• Democratize culture, thanks to the rental of original art works at competitive prices.
• Give our established artists and rising artists a greater visibility.
• Help the population perfect its knowledge of visual arts thanks to the variety of our art collection and its multitude of plastic languages. By making art accessible to all,
ARTOTHEQUE wants to widen the circle of art lovers, and also promote the artists it represents. By its educational mission ARTOTHEQUE helps people develop their appreciation of art. The development of ARTOTHEQUE increases the artists’ visibility and influence. Artists’ incomes are largely generated by the rentals and the sales of their works. Participation in local collective activities, partnerships with non-profit organizations, being part of a buying group and the encouragement of voluntary simplicity are integral parts of the ARTOTHÈQUE values.
Moreover, this organization lends original artworks free of charge to schools and hospitals. ARTOTHEQUE works with other organizations and institutions in order to represent various cultures and cultural parts (Vues d’Afrique, Journées de la culture, Alzheimer Foundation, Magnus Poirier Foundation and The Island Health and Social Services Centre.) The organization devotes, as much as possible, its big showroom to the holding of events, such as general assemblies and cocktail parties, in order to bring together the public and the artists.
