The essay of A. Michael Noll describes how him and Dr. Max V. Mathews invited Nam June Paik in the mid 1960s to the Bell Telephone Laboratories (aka: Bell Labs). A. Michael Noll explains that they taught Paik the basics of computer programing using the FORTRAN language and gave him the basics to be one of the first artist to programm and create digital art himself.
