Noll, A. Michael 2015. Early Microfilm Plotters at Bell Labs. [unknown address]:A.M. Noll
Description

In this note from 2015, A. Michael Noll recalls the plotters used in the 1960s at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, NJ, to output computer generated drawings and films. Initially, a Stromberg Carlson SC-4020 was used – by the time a successful plotter of high visual quality. Around the year 1968, it was replaced by a Stromberg DatagraphiX SD-4360 plotter. Noll stresses the point that, contrary to common belief, not all graphic output at Bell was generated on an SC-4020.
