Duane Palyka has participated in the development of computer graphics as both an artist and as a computer scientist for three decades. He started programming computers to make art in the mid-sixties, while he worked on getting three degrees— both a BS in mathematics and a BFA in painting from Carnegie-Mellon University and then an MFA from the University of Utah. His artwork has been shown internationally in museums and galleries including the Brooklyn Museum and the Smithsonian. Duane was a technical director on two movies for George Lucas’ “Industrial Light and Magic” production company. Currently he’s an Associate Professor teaching animation at the School of Film and Animation at RIT.
