Description

A book that came out of half a year’s stay (February through August, 2010) by Hans Dehlinger at Sun Yat-Sen University, collaborating with the two Chinese hosts and running a workshop and seminar at the Digital Media Research Center. The professors guided their students to experiments on lines, on squares, and on lines from plants. The brief introduction gives some background on these experiments as well as on more general issues of digital and generative art. It is richly illustrated with 69 results plus more explanations, particularly about the use of automatically generated magic squares for some stunning line drawings and continuous images.
