The new gallery Graz shows the extensive oeuvre of the austrian artist Otto Beckmann. He was one of the pioneers of computer art and was already working on the generation of art through the use of mathematics in the 1930s. This catalogue documents Beckmanns comprehensive oeuvre; from his early fantastical, surreal and algorithmic works, through to thelaser graphics, films and architectural visions generated by his atelier computer, which was especially designed for him, as well as hisfetish-like sculptures made from found objects, in the surrealist “ObjetTrouvé” tradition.
